Manchester City Kits 2012/13

The new home kit for Premier League Champions Manchester City with the help of club captain Vincent Kompany and one of the club’s biggest fans, rock legend Noel Gallagher.

The two MCFC icons met at the Rock Werchter festival in Brussels at the weekend, where Vincent introduced Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds to his hometown crowd.

Speaking about the new home and away kits, lifelong City fan Noel Gallagher said: “The new home kit is pure class. It might be the best one we’ve had in a decade. As modern and radical as it is though, it’s nice to see Umbro keeping our heritage alive in the new away kit. The best dressed defending champions of all time? No doubt.”

The new maroon away shirt will be worn by Manchester City ’s players and supporters as they look to defend their title throughout the 2012/13 season. Celebrating the club’s supporters around the world, Umbro and Manchester City recently asked them to ‘Show Your City’ and come up ideas for how to launch the club’s stylish new kits and will be unveiling of the winning ideas very soon!

Manchester City Away shirt is inspired by the one-off shirts that City heroes wore for their 1956 FA Cup final victory and celebrates The Blues historic triumph in the final of last year’s competition. Embroidered with the Umbro diamond and with an applique club crest on the chest, this short sleeved version of the sharp new Manchester City away shirt 2012 is a stylish way to show your support as the club enters a potentially illustrious new era. This striped zinfandel coloured shirt is expertly tailored for an improved fit with stretch sleeves, front darts on the body and a classic mitred V neck, so it looks smart in the stands or out on the pitch.

Manchester City had a decent campaign in last season’s UEFA Champions League and will look to go even further this season wearing their new European Away kit tailored by Umbro. Set to be worn in all the club’s European away games and some select Premier League fixtures, the stylish black and carbon shirt is sure to be a favourite with City’s fans in Manchester and around the world.

The new European Away shirt features smart black and carbon grey stripes on the body and arms of the kit, with subtle vista blue trim on the inner stretch cuffs referencing the team’s home colours as they travel abroad. The same vista blue colour also features on the embroidered Umbro diamond and MCFC crest on the chest, and the sponsors logo.

Comfort and fit is a key factor in the new Manchester City away shirt, with displaced shoulder seams and a curved hem allowing players and fans to concentrate on playing the game, or cheering on the team! The collar, a classic ribbed crew neck with a v-insert, also helps with fit and movement in a vital area.

Liverpool FC 3rd Away Kit 2012/13

The new Liverpool FC third kit they will wear in Europe this season. And as they themselves have said, the new kit is certainly ‘delivering a bold design statement to the football world’. With a striking graphic print set over a daring colour palette of Nightshade, Orange and White, the new kit will be worn by Liverpool FC during their upcoming UEFA Europa League campaign and selected Barclays Premier League games.

Inspiration behind the kit’s dominant nightshade colour stems from popular past goalkeeper kits worn by David James during the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons, and Pepe Reina in 2010/11.

The kit is constructed with a body mapped mesh to help players stay cool under pressure. Warriors War-Tech technology helps the players by keeping external elements out while letting sweat and moisture escape to help them stay dry and comfortable.

The shirt is underpinned with durable water resistant technology, adding a layer of protection by rejecting external moisture while staying dry. Polyester mesh fabric under the arms enables a full-range of movement and increased air flow to help regulate temperature in key heat areas during games.

ARSENAL AWAY KIT 2012/13

Arsenal will wear an adventurous new away kit this season and its eye-catching design marks a new direction for Arsenal – it combines a rich purple base with black hoops.

Taking visual inspiration from high street fashion, the kit is on-trend and by using such a regal colour in the year of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, it also honours the Club’s historical royal links.

The Gunners were known as “Royal Arsenal” in the 1890s having been formed at the Arsenal munitions factory in Woolwich, South London. Originally bearing the name “Dial Square” after one of the factory’s workshops, the founding fathers decided to merge the name of a pub they met in – Royal Oak – with their place of work.

The red trim on the shirt cuffs compliment the purple body and pay homage to the home kits that are so identifiable with the Club, whilst the differing hoop patterns on the body and the sleeves of the shirt give it a modern twist.

The inner back neck graphic takes the form of the club’s motto, ‘Victoria Concordia Crescit’, the Latin for ‘Victory Through Harmony’. Meanwhile, the outer back neck graphic pays tribute to legendry manager Herbert Chapman’s innovative WM formation

A.C. Milan Home kit 2012/13

The new A.C. Milan jersey for the 2012/2013 season.

The jersey and accompanying communications campaign have been designed to remind fans of the origins of one the most famous football clubs in the world.

Associazione Calcio Milan, or A.C. Milan, were born on the 16th of December 1899 and 113 years of football has seen them become the most successful club in world football. As current Serie A Champions A.C. Milan have worked with adidas to create a new jersey that includes the Italian flag deeply embedded in the design alongside the traditional red and black club colours.

The new design includes five wide stripes with three black and two red. The polo collar returns to the jersey with “A.C. Milan” embroirdered into it. The Italian flag is embedded into the kit in vertical stripes between the 5 main stripes. The Italian flag is then repeated across the top of the shirt with a green and red oblique inserts on either shoulder flanking the all white colour.

The new consumer campaign for fans is based around the origins of A.C. Milan and the reasons the club was founded 113 years ago. Current club players have been used across three symbolic sites in Milan (Castello Sforzesco, Colonne di San Lorenzo and San Siro stadium) to create three videos that retrace the steps of the club being created.

On a December night in 1899 founding member Herbert Kiplin said, “We are a team of devils. Our colours are red as fire, and black, to invoke fear in our opponents”, and the campaign for the new jersey reflects this sentiment. The videos show key points in A.C. Milan history and during the story some details of the new jersey were revealed through adidas twitter, facebook, and YouTube.

Chelsea FC New Home Kit 2012/13

With the 2012 season drawing to a close Chelsea FC are already looking forward to next season as Chelsea and adidas today unveiled the new home shirt for the 2012/13 football season. The strip carries a gold theme, reflective of the year of sport and celebration in the capital in 2012.

The new ChelseaFC home kit sees the adidas, Samsung and club crest all turned completely gold. This theme is reflected in the iconic three stripes across the shoulders and the ‘CFC’ motif seen on the rear of the neck. Subtle dark blue stripes also feature through the front of the shirt. The look is finished off with gold piping around the arms and neck. This design detail is repeated through the shorts and socks both of which feature golden three-stripes on Chelsea’s famous blue.

Arsenal FC Home kit 2012/13

The new Arsenal home shirt for the 2012-13 season which pays tribute to the North London club’s visionary past and bright future, inspired by 126 years of innovation and style.

Arsenal Football Club has long been the benchmark for innovation and change. It was Herbert Chapman – the club’s manager from 1925 to 1934 – who championed the use of floodlights, numbered shirts and white footballs in the modern game. And Nike, official kit supplier and leaders in design and innovation, has unveiled a home kit that pays tribute to club heritage whilst offering players and fans a modern and stylish new uniform.

The shirt boasts the traditional red block body with white sleeves but fans will find a new twist to the kit; a blue (obsidian) hoop detail on the collar, sleeves and socks.

Blue (obsidian) has long been used as a third colour on Arsenal’s shirts throughout their illustrious history and features in the Arsenal crest; and it’s inclusion in the kit for the 2012-13 season nods to that past but gives it a fresh, bold look.

Heritage details include an inner neck graphic which reads; “Victoria Concordia Crescit (the club’s latin logo meaning victory through harmony). The outer neck graphic is a nod to Chapman’s famous ‘WM formation’ that galvanised and shaped the modern game.

As is traditional, the new shorts are white but with a WM formation on the side, and ‘Arsenal’ in the back of the waistband.  The home kit socks are white with red and blue (obsidian) hoop detail.

Manchester United Home kit 2012/13

The new Manchester United home kit inspired by the city’s industrious past this season. The 2012-13 shirt will feature the iconic gingham check that hailed from Manchester’s famous cotton mills.

Manchester United Football club’s success has been founded on the traditional values of respect and hard work. Those values are what made Manchester the city it is and from the mid 18th century the cotton mills there were prolific in the industry. From those mills came the gingham fabric, an iconic check that like Manchester United is famous around the world and is now – for the first time – used on a Manchester United home shirt.

The tonal gingham in traditional and iconic red gives the home shirt a bold new look.  The black v-neck collar gives the shirt a contemporary look. The inner back neck graphic on the shirt reads, ‘Forged in Industry, Striving for Glory’; paying tribute to the cities industrial past but also the club’s hard-working ethos.

The outer neck graphic is the iconic devil symbol so synonymous around the world with Manchester United whilst a diagonal hatched graphic on the white shorts is a subtle link to the gingham used on the shirt.
